Ahlen (German pronunciation: [ˈaːlən]) is a town in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The town is part of the district of Warendorf. The villages Dolberg and Vorhelm are both quarters of the town. The largest neighbouring town is the City of Hamm in the south-east.
Ahlen's economy was dominated by the coal industry for nearly one century.
It is also the birthplace of Valencia CF footballer, Curro Torres.
